We have created a Patreon account for Akira as the campaign will never reach its goal. The more progress we make, the more money we get, the more time we spend on it patreon.com/akiraux
We will also set up a bounty system and other alternatives to Patreon later. #akiraux

hey @tootdon why do you have these trackers enabled? reports.exodus-privacy.eu.org/

I love your app but these trackers are fucked up.

bruh I just learned that #Wallabag allows for publicly shared URIs! I'm just going to share those links versus direct ones for the sake of readability

We're missing documentation on how to run Mastodon as a hidden (e.g. #Tor) service. If you know how to do it, please either submit it or tell me so I can write it down

I never lived on a college campus, but I had lots of friends that did. I spent a large portion of my late teens and early 20s in the Public Spaces that college campuses provide. Every building, it seemed, had a huge ground floor with tables and electricity and wifi, and some of them also had free coffee.

I imagine that this is what it would be like if we made libraries more focused on being community spaces, gave them longer hours, and encouraged socialization or events in the evenings.

While discussion with @dnegreira about and how I used in the past CRMstuite and now LibreOffice templates, I discovered the while listening to their podcast. First impressions: looks pretty cool!

The Linux Foundation yesterday launched the Enabling Linux in Safety Applications (ELISA) open source project to create a shared set of tools and processes to help companies build and certify Linux-based safety-critical applications and systems whose failure could result in loss of human life, significant property damage or environmental damage.

I love the idea of the #fediverse, where there are all these different services that can all talk and share stuff on the same underlying framework.
The HUGE issue I'm having is I still have to make accounts on almost a dozen servers to be able to share different kinds of content. #Pixelfed for images, #mastodon for short messages, #Plume for blogging, and now #prismo for reddit-esk news.
Whatever happened to federated logins like #OpenID that let me use my main to sign into other sites? 🤔😓

Pedro boosted

Prismo is an open federated alternative to sites like Reddit or Hacker News.

It's still under development, but the first instance is online here:

prismo.news

It's been in closed beta for a while, but Prismo now has open sign-ups for the first time.

You can sign up at:

Have you considered contributing to #OpenStreetMaps? It's like Wikipedia but for maps - a map that everybody can edit! Today, the NSW Address Import project added thousands of addresses for West Pennant Hills, Warrawee, and West Pymble.

If you know those areas, check it out and start mapping!

I have been using simplenote this past year or so and it's quite a simple and yet cool note taking appthat stays out of the way. Nevertheless, inspired by one of Lunduke's videos, I decided to look for an alternative where I have more control over the actual data (preferably txt) and yet with features I miss on simplenote (subnotes/subpages, images, tables, tasks...) and I rediscovered on my old favorites! It has been a blast! Easy to use and saves txt that I can syncthing with phone
