My company built a 3D wooden map for an exhibit called Data Through Design, held as part of NYC's Open Data Week. The height of each Manhattan neighborhood's block represents the total number of street trees in that neighborhood. The legend on the base tells more about the species and precise location of the trees.

@anbnyc I really like it. As a data viz person and a sometimes woodworker, I'm curious about the build process. Any plans to write it up?
