Pinned toot

It's amazing to realise how much I was feeling corralled into communicating in a certain way on Twitter. When branded posting took over and the whole thing went into announcement mode I lost the desire to think out loud.

And the little filaments are a mouth sensation. That's a technical term.

Catching up here while eating vermicelli. A bit carby I know but omg *the taste*.

Good piece this by @emercoleman@twitter.com. Can't help but feel the only thing we can do is say 10 hail marys and hope that the orgs that control the web (and by extension our lives), do so ethically and responsibly. medium.com/@emercoleman/the-it

Not sure about the 'toots' thing. And why messages have to be branded as something other than they are is kind of beyond me. It worked for Twitter, because a tweet is a derivative of the name. Mastodon? Not so much. A message would have been fine, really.

Trying out pinafore.social – a Mastodon web client* with a focus on accessibility – after a recommendation by @laura and it’s a beautiful, simple app.

Nice to be here. It's a relief. The other networks were giving me a headache.
